SYSPRO Named Private Technology Company of the Year

SYSPRO Wins Second Major Honor in As Many Weeks.

COSTA MESA, Calif. - May 18, 2009 -- SYSPRO, a leading, worldwide provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, has been named Private Technology of the Year by TechAmerica. SYSPRO, with US headquarters in Costa Mesa, Calif., won out over private technology companies that included Silicon Systems, D-Link Systems and Enclarity. The award was accepted by SYSPRO USA CEO Brian Stein and SYSPRO USA President Joey Benadretti at a May 14 banquet at the Hilton Orange County. Both Stein and Benadretti are long-time residents of Irvine, Calif.

TechAmerica was formed by the merger of the American Electronics Association (AeA), the Cyber Security Industry Alliance (CSIA), the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) and the Government Electronics & Information Technology Association (GEIA).

Only two weeks prior, SYSPRO was honored as "Software Company of the Year" by the Technology Council of Southern California, beating out Epicor Software Corporation and Guidance Systems.

The TechAmerica award, which is voted on by a panel of prominent judges, including top-notch business and educational leaders, is based on a set of stringent criteria, including:

  • Technological breakthroughs
  • How the product serves the needs of the market
  • Ways in which the company's products and services are unique compared to the competition
  • Sales and revenue growth
  • Service to the community

SYSPRO USA Joey Benadretti said of this latest honor: "SYSPRO success is a direct reflection of the success of our customers." He cites three examples of how an investment in SYSPRO software is producing outstanding returns:

  • Optical Cable Corporation's President and CEO Neil Wilkin states: "Our SYSPRO ERP system has delivered efficiencies by improving production flow and visibility, enabling us to make better business decisions.

The company has improved gross profit by 31.2% and last year Exporter of the Year Award in Information Technology and Telecommunications from Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Department of Commerce."

  • Gary Lange, Director of Information Technology at Airborne Systems Group, notes: "Our ability to customize [SYSPRO] screens according to individual user needs has enhanced operational efficiency by more than 25%. Our users now have everything they need, where they expect to find it, without having to wade through additional screens and fields that they may not require. This results in an improved user experience and reduces new employee training time."
  • TriStar Plastics of Massachusetts, an early adopter of SYSPRO's pioneering "green" enterprise resource planning (ERP) approach, reports that by utilizing the SYSPRO Material Yield System alone, the company has saved "hundreds of thousands of dollars" and has eliminated the need to send "thousands of pounds" of plastic remnants to land fills.

Benadretti continues: "Not only does SYSPRO offer a single, integrated enterprise software solution with exceptional core functionality and superlative ease-of-use features, but equally as important, SYSPRO provides unparalleled post sales support." He cites an example of the daily emails received commending SYSPRO on the support provided:

A Benicia, Calif.-based manufacturer writes: "It is very refreshing to see SYSPRO taking such concern in us as a customer. I have never seen a company take such a pro-active interest in their customers. It is truly appreciated."

SYSPRO's more thoughtful approach to adopting new technology, such as web services and SOA platforms, also reflects the desires of its buyers who are driven by business needs and not by the latest headlines. This exemplifies SYSPRO's ongoing strategy of helping to simplify the success of its customers. SYSPRO calls its buyer landscape "PragmaVision,"รข„¢ consisting of pragmatic, visionary ERP executives that are driven by a desire for smart, but aggressive market growth.

SYSPRO Positioned in ERP Magic Quadrant Report

SYSPRO Evaluated on Completeness of Vision; Ability to Execute.
JOHANNESBURG - June 10, 2009 - SYSPRO is recognized in Gartner's recently released "Magic Quadrant for Midmarket and Tier-2 Oriented ERP for Product-Centric Companies."1 SYSPRO is positioned in the report as a "challenger."
Gartner's Magic Quadrants graphically display vendors, rating them on two criteria: completeness of vision and ability to execute. Using different qualifiers per criteria for the varying industries, the Magic Quadrant then positions the vendors into one of four quadrants: Leaders;Challengers; Visionaries; Niche Players.
SYSPRO was one of the first companies to develop an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solution. The company has continued to innovate its single product offering, adding unparalleled functionality, ease of use and customization capabilities that enable SMB (small, medium-size business) manufacturers and distributors to successfully compete in their respective industries by "leaning" and "greening" their operations.
Phil Duff, SYSPRO CEO, notes: "The Tier One market leaders are struggling to understand the vast difference in requirements for smaller businesses. We have been in this space for over 30 years, and we know what the market needs and have built these desired functionalities into the SYSPRO product. We will continue to help manufacturing and distribution companies realize their full potential by giving them an extra advantage that they can't get from other software providers, even those serving the largest companies."
"The SYSPRO status as a major software supplier to SMB manufacturers and distributors is confirmed by recent industry awards. Within the past month SYSPRO was named 'Software Company of the Year' by the Technology Council of Southern California and 'Outstanding Private Technology Company' by TechAmerica," notes Brian Stein, CEO, SYSPRO USA.

Chocolate Potpourri Product Recall Plan Leverages SYSPRO Software Functionalities .

COSTA MESA, Calif., Sep 10, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SYSPRO, a provider of visionary ERP for the manufacturing pragmatist, has announced that its software is the foundation of a comprehensive product recall plan in place at Glenview, Ill.-based chocolate maker, Chocolate Potpourri.

Winner of numerous industry awards for its effective utilization of SYSPRO enterprise software, Chocolate Potpourri said it has established a product recall plan that fully leverages the extensive traceability and tracking capabilities inherent in SYSPRO software. Chocolate Potpourri's plan makes full use of these functionalities to trace product ingredients from origin, through the manufacturing process, to their ultimate destination, fully maintaining assurance certification and tracking expiration dates.

According to Richard Gordon, president of Chocolate Potpourri, "SYSPRO ERP software not only enables us to compete successfully with the largest confectioners in the industry, but also to safeguard our customers and the public in the event of the recall of an ingredient."

Joey Benadretti, president of SYSPRO USA, adds, "SYSPRO has been on the forefront of providing greater visibility and control over quality and tracking in industries like medical devices, pharmaceuticals and food. In fact, SYSPRO software facilitates full compliance with the more stringent food recall standards being proposed by Congress."
